History of Gay Bars Denver
In 1939, the first gay bar in Denver, Colorado opens up, The Pit. Legend has it that during the early days with so many men living in Denver and so few women, that most bars would be considered gay bars! These gay bars became a safe haven for the gay community. Over the year, many other bars began to pop up everywhere that were approving of all sexualities. They accepted you and you did not have to hide who you were to anybody. These were places men would go to feel like they belonged. This tradition has stayed true to its Colorado roots, because if there is one thing Denver knows is that staying true to your roots is how you make it through life. This community has grown and expanded in such a way that rivals the communities in major cities. Brief Description: From everyone we talked to about Boyztown, this place has been getting two thumbs up across the boards. The best nights to go are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday by 10pm. Cheap drinks, and sexy men in tighty-whities are on stage pole dancing. By the end of the night you will be so hot and bothered that not even their $2.75 cocktails will be able to cool you off. Grab your dancing shoes and give it up to the bar with the $8 Mimosa pitchers.

Brief Description: This is the hottest burlesque and cabaret in town. You will not find a better place with a better show than at Lannie’s. This place is perfect for a night on the town if you want to class it up a bit. They also serve delicious food, including cupcakes and bacon cheese sliders. All of these pair nicely with their specialty drinks and wine menu. If you want to pick a good night to go, you should drop by Thursday through Saturday around 9:30pm for great live performances and yummy cocktails. It is the quintessential place for anyone going to Gay Bars Denver.

Whether it be a viewing party, sporting event or free darts on Mondays, it seems like there’s always something going on at this bumping lounge. Each review website boasts that R & R Denver is the lounge to hit up due to its friendly experience. Good looking bartenders and a very intense jukebox music collection will have you reaching for another cheap drink while you chat up a very cute and like minded gentlemen. Drop by Wednesday or Saturday closer to 10pm and try a shot called ‘Sex with an Alligator’. It is worth the trip to Denver!

Brief Description: First of all, go on a Sunday night, anytime, for beer bust, for $8 you can get all you drink beer. It is probably one of the best places in Denver to do this. Not to mention it is the best way to meet new people and drink tons of beer. If beer does not satisfy you that is ok, because they also have $2.50 bar rail drinks for your pleasure. Did we mention their glasses are a lot larger than normal bar glasses so you get some bang for your buck? You will be sure to have a great time to matter what night you go. The music does not stick to one genre which makes dancing a scream and keeps the conversation among new friends going. The best thing about this bar is the bartenders, even when it gets crowded they make an effort to stay on top of everyone and make sure you aren’t waiting too long for your next round. One of the nicest gay bars in Denver by far so be sure to check this one out.

It is known as the best little gay bar in Denver. This year marks their 35th anniversary of being a pillar in the gay community. They have legendary karaoke, half-off drinks special night and a taking it half off drinks special. You take off your shirt and get a half-off drink! Also, take advantage of the line dancing or two-stepping lessons and get those bodies moving!

Over the top behavior and semi-dressed patrons make for an interesting to say the least. While every night here is something fierce, we recommend that you take a walk on the wild side and come out to Superstar Thursdays. The first 50 guests to arrive get free entry (otherwise it’s $10) and the drag queens and sexy men are out to party. Tracks has three resident DJs to set the mood for your party; DJ Markie, DJ Blaque Gurl and DJ Flowers. Be a superstar and show off what you got going on.

Brief Description: In our efforts to find some of the best Denver gay clubs, we stumbled upon this treasure. Compound Basix has been going strong for years now and is welcoming of anyone and everyone. While it is mainly a gay bar, it is often frequented by people of all sexual orientations. With different events happening all the time it makes choosing a specific night hard to do. Four play Fridays are a must though, bust our your leather gear and come out and dance to DJ Zac Reclipze and DJ Stone Cox. Fun fact: Things will get kinky so you know where to be when you are in Denver. Also if you’re feeling a bit spiritual and if bartender Crispy happens to be working, if you are super nice to him you may get him to give you a little psychic reading. According to patrons who have done this in the past, it’s a start up riot. If you are looking for cheap drinks, then look no further! $4 shots and $5 tall glass well drinks every night. You will have fun without breaking the bank.

Every Thursday they boast $3 Budweiser and $5 Blue Moon cocktails, which adds to the atmosphere of the X Bar. There is dance music with a wide range of songs and artists playing loud, and dancers inside a cage. This nightclub will give new meaning to Denver Gay Clubs and give you the time of your life in the process.
