Happy Monday to everyone here on ManPlay’s official blog! You may have noticed Terrence and I were gone on Thursday and Friday of last week. My fault; I knew we were going to a staff seminar through to the weekend but I thought it was NEXT week! Thankfully Terrence is a tad more organized than I am and he figured it out – and found out where I’d put our registrations!

We learned a ton at the seminar about ways to make your ManPlay experience even better. From increased customer service to more user-friendly elements on the site, we want to make your gay dating experience the best that it can be. There is nothing worse than being a sexy gay man unable to connect with other hot boys, right? Be sure to look out for some new changes that the nerds in our IT department are working on and let us know what you like or hate!

Last night I got back just in time (literally, like one minute before the start) for MTV’s annual VMA celeb-a-thon.I knew Lady Gaga was opening the show, so I was racing across the city to make it back. Imagine my surprise when, instead of Gaga, I was treated to her alter-ego Jo Calderone for the performance. First, she (or rather, he) started off ranting for a couple minutes about his relationship with Gaga before launching into a brilliant performance of current single Yoü And I, featuring a cigarette and a beer and an army of similarly-dressed dancers. Like the best of Gaga’s performances, it was ridiculous but it worked.

What I thought worked less was the fact that she stayed in her Calderone persona for the REST OF THE NIGHT! Even after the show, she would only answer questions from the press if addressed to Calderone. A bit much, Gaga. Gay boys that love their pop might be irritated like I was, too, that Gaga seemed to interfere with Britney Spears winning her Vanguard award, staying on stage with her and pretty much preventing her from speaking. Not cool, Gaga! (Btw, does anyone else think Gaga looks kind of sexy as Calderone?!?!)

Those were pretty much the highlights of the show ManPlay-ers. Except Adele delivered an amazing performance and Beyonce announced she was pregnant (above) before singing the fun deep cut Love On Top. What did you all think of the show? Were you able to ignore the gay personals for a few hours to watch the show?! Make up for the lost time now, if so!
