Afternoon to all the (literal!) hotties out there! Hopefully you’re surviving the heat wave that we mentioned yesterday is going around much of North America right now. When the temperatures soar to these levels there’s nothing you can do but try and get through it. It’s obviously great to bask in the summer heat but sometimes it can get to be a bit much and you just want to sit in an air-conditioned room with a cool drink!

One issue that comes up for people that are dating on ManPlay and finding themselves full up with a social calendar of dates but not sure what to do when it’s so hot out, I’ve come up with some hot dates that are great for the summer months. Read on and let me know if you agree with them of have any secrets that you want to share with the rest of us on ManPlay!

1. Hit up on outdoor pool!

This is something that people tend to forget about since it’s not a new or (theoretically) exciting venture. People often associate outdoor public pools with screaming children and ill-fitting bathing suits, but they forget (or don’t realize) that many of them are open quite late on extremely hot nights and are populated by adults! Whether they are out for a quick dip or are making a night of it, it’s an unusual and fun date that neither of you will soon forget. Just be sure to plan ahead of time and find out what is allowed to be taken there and what isn’t and what the hours are. You don’t want to set up this date on a scorcher of a night and show up with bathing suits and towels only to find out it’s not even open!

2. Go to a night market

Plenty of larger cities offer night markets in the summer that are busy and bustling. You may not be beating the heat all that much, but at least you are all suffering together and you’re outside trying something new. Whether you are making it a dinner substitute or doing some light browsing amongst the stalls, there will be plenty of conversation fodder from the sights and sounds all around you. Check your local area to see if there are any night markets open near you!

3. Cool down at the cinema – with a twist!

Another option that people might overlook because it’s such a common thing to do on a date that it might not even be considered, when it’s really a wonderful way to cool down for a couple of hours. The key to making this a romantic event is to find a cinema that offers reserved seating or a ‘VIP screen’ where you are given more luxuries. Imagine seeing a summer film with a glass of wine and some appetizers while leaning back in a comfortable seat while also cooling right off with the air-conditioning of the cinema… Checking showtimes yet? You should be!

4. Go for a ride!

Did you know a lot of boats can be rented by the hour? Go down to the nearest body of water to you and see what sort of fun you can get into. Of course, being organized is all the better for your date, especially if you are surprising him. Imagine how much you would love it if you were meeting up for a date and he had chartered a boat with champagne at the ready? You’d probably fall head over heels, no? Create that experience for your date and you’ll be jetting away through the waves feeling the breeze on you. Talk about a sweet (and fun!) way for sexy gay men to cool down!

5. A waterpark isn’t only for children!

When was the last time you were on a waterslide? If you’re anything like me, it had been years and years. So I was pleasantly surprised when I ended up on one last summer at a waterpark. I had an amazing time and there were plenty of other adults there having some fun in the water as well. When you go to one of these parks, just be prepared with sunscreen because you might not realize that you are running a risk of getting burned because you are in the water, but you absolutely can. Having towels with you is just the wise thing to do as well! I predict you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much fun you have at a waterpark and few things are sexier than really letting your inhibitions go and having a great laugh with a date.
