Last-minute tips for a fun and sexy Valentine’s Day
Good morning to all the gorgeous gay men of ManPlay out there! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend. Be sure and write and let me know what sort of shenanigans you all got into with people you met off of ManPlay! I’m sure a lot of you got into some fun trouble, for sure! With Valentine’s Day tomorrow (how did that happen?!) and many of you writing and telling me you have nothing planned – but are meeting up with someone off of ManPlay – here are a few last-minute tips for a fun and sexy night with no pressure attached. I’ll also go on the assumption that you’re going to go out for dinner so we don’t have to get complicated here. Instead, here are a couple quick at-home ways to add a little extra sweetness into your night.
If you’re staying in, you can cook up a simple and silly romantic treat. I’m presuming you are not in a long-term relationship if you haven’t made any plans for the night yet and are essentially winging it, so let’s go with some casual and fun things you can do to notice the day, but not go overboard. Forget the heart-shaped pizzas that are always around and make some pancakes using a standard larger-sized heart-shaped cookie cutter. It’s fast, cheap and easy and looks really cute as a late-night snack or if your date happens to spend the night. Say what you want, but I think a heart-shaped pancake and a Valentine’s cocktail is a really cute idea for a quick treat on a date and I would be very happy to receive them. Below I have a great cocktail recipe for a ‘Rasmopolitan’.
- 2 tablespoons citrus-flavored vodka
- 2 tablespoons raspberry-flavored vodka
- 1 tablespoon Chambord
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 tablespoon Simple Syrup
- 2 tablespoons cranberry juice
- Raspberries for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add vodkas, Chambord, lime juice, simple syrup, and cranberry juice. Shake or stir until well chilled. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with raspberries; serve.
This is one of my favorite cocktail recipes, for Valentine’s Day, or whenever to be honest! It’s so simple to make, incorporates Chambord, which is one of my favorites, and comes from Miss Martha herself, who I also adore.
My last tip for a sweet treat for you and your sweetie are the old stand-bys that never go out of style. Chocolate-covered strawberries. There are the suspicions that both the strawberries and the chocolates are good for creating a sexy mood by the person indulging, so I say go for it and have a second helping! This recipe is my favorite for them; fast and simple – and delicious of course!
- 16 ounces milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 pound fresh strawberries with leaves
